Illawarra 98 def BA CoE 89 — Watch the Replay

Illawarra Hawks have the opportunity to be both NBL and NBL1 champions after Todd Blanchfield dominated with a stellar double-double performance, posting 27 points and 15 rebounds as Illawarra defeated BA CoE 98-89 at The Snakepit Stadium. Blanchfield shot 8-from-22 from the field while collecting 12 defensive boards. The Hawks had three players score 19 points apiece, with Kobe McDowell-White adding a double-double of his own with 11 assists and nine rebounds.

Illawarra built a commanding 23-point lead during the contest and controlled the game for over 38 minutes. The Hawks were exceptional from the free-throw line, shooting 88.9 percent (16-from-18). For BA CoE, Nash Walker led the scoring with 19 points, while Che Brogan added 18 points including 4-from-6 from three-point range. Despite the loss, BA CoE showed efficiency in the paint, outscoring Illawarra 38-28 in that area.

Canberra 84 def Sutherland 76 — Watch the Replay

William Mayfield delivered 19 points, seven assists and five rebounds as Canberra secured an 84-76 victory against Sutherland at Southern Cross Basketball Stadium in Tuggeranong. Mayfield shot 3-from-9 from three-point range and added three steals to his impressive stat line. James Toohey and Glenn Morison each contributed 17 points for the Gunners, with Morison adding nine rebounds and three blocks.

In a back-and-forth contest featuring 15 lead changes and six ties, Canberra's perimeter shooting proved decisive as they connected on 11 three-pointers compared to Sutherland's dismal three. The Gunners' dominance on the glass was evident with a 48-39 rebounding advantage, including 16 offensive boards that led to 14 second-chance points. Luke Jamieson posted a superb double-double for Sutherland with 19 points and 11 rebounds on an efficient 8-from-13 shooting, while Lochlan Hutchison added 17 points, six assists and six steals in the losing effort.
