Australia's men's and women's Gangurrus teams delivered positive performances at the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, with both squads advancing to the knockout stages and the women reaching the quarter-finals.

The Australian women's team, seeded 16th, exceeded expectations by sweeping their pool games. They secured victories over top-seeded China (21–12), 8th-seeded Poland (21–18), Madagascar (21–5), and Italy (21–9), finishing atop Pool A with a perfect 4–0 record. Their impressive run concluded in the quarter-finals with a loss to the Netherlands.

The men's team, seeded 18th, also impressed to reach the group stage. After an opening loss to Germany (17–21), they rebounded with wins against top-seeded Serbia (21–17), Belgium (21–15), and Madagascar (21–19), securing second place in Pool A. Their tournament ended in the play-in round with a defeat to Spain (10–21).

The final tournament standings saw the women place fifth, while the men placed tenth.
